Additional Information
1. Review fence instructions first
Your gate will perform best when installed with a full understanding of your fence system.
2. Pre-assemble the gate frame (dry run)
Do not screw the frame together initially. Temporarily assemble first to ensure:
- All parts are present
- Proper assembly order
- Correct fit and function
- Dimensions match line drawings above
Once confirmed, disassemble as needed and reassemble using the provided self-drilling stainless steel screws.
3. Install gate posts before fence posts
Fence panels allow more flexibility. Set your gate posts first for proper alignment.
4. Do not hang the gate from a single unsupported post
For best performance, attach the hinge post to a fence panel connected to a second post. Installing panels on both sides of the gate is ideal. If space is limited, contact us for alternatives.
- Use joiner clips (included with ZP19037- sold separately) to attach the gate to the fence panels. Gate must be attached to a panel for proper function and stability.

Step 7
Use screws (J) to fasten the bottom gate rail to the gate posts.
Step 8
Attach L brackets (K) to the inside corners of the bottom rail using screws (J) to secure and stabilize the bottom of the gate frame.
Step 9
Flip the gate frame over and repeat steps on the opposite side.
Step 10
Attach both gate hinges (G) to the top and bottom of one gate post using screws (J).
Step 11
Using black screws (I), fasten the hinges securely through the hinge plate and into the gate post.

Repeat steps 15–19 to create one additional fence wing panel. You should now have two completed wing panels.
Step 21
Place both wing panels upright with posts pointing down. Space the two posts of one wing 38¾" apart (outer post to outer post). Use a spacer block or measure carefully to ensure consistent spacing before driving into the ground.
- Attempt to push the unit into the ground.
- Leave approximately 2 inches of clearance between the bottom rail and the ground for optimal aesthetics and drainage.
Tap posts into the ground using a mallet and a scrap wood block placed on top of the post to prevent damage. Check straightness with a level as you go.
If Ground is Too Hard
- Loosen ground and soak with water
- Alternately, use a 1.5" tulip auger drill attachment
Step 22
- Install post caps (A) on all four wing posts.
Step 23
- Temporarily remove 2 screws from the side you designate for the gate hinge as illustrated.
Step 24
- Screw hinge to the wing post using screws you removed in the previous step (J), connecting the gate to the post. Check that the gate swings freely.
Step 25
- Using the provided drill bit (L), pre-drill new holes through the hinge plate and into the wing post to prepare for the next step.
Step 26
- Using black screws (I), fasten the hinges to the wing as illustrated.
Step 27
- Attach the latch catch to the latch-side wing post using screws (M) and confirm the gate latch (H) engages correctly. Test the gate by opening and closing fully. Your installation is complete!
